Overview


1.23 funded projects as PI/Co-PI since April 2010 (including 3 funded by the National Science Foundation of China), accumulative funding has reached ~US $ 1 million (monetary value).

2.83 papers (46 since 2014, including 1 Nat. Commun., 1 Adv. Funct. Mater., 1 Adv. Energy Mater. and 6 Acta Mater.), Google Scholar Citations: 1374 (12/30/19), h-index: 20, i-10: 37.

3.12 patents filed (including 3 U.S. patents), 8 granted; multiple U.S. patents in preparation.

4.110 contributed presentations (88 as the presenting or corresponding author) in 50 academic conferences, 6 graduate students advised received best poster awards in 5 conferences.

5.Supervising and mentoring an active group consisting of postdoc (1), PhD (4) and M.S. students (2) in my areas of research.  4 Ph.D. and 18 M.S. graduated during 2010-2018.  Three graduated PhDs are now junior faculty members in engineering fields, while most of my graduate students are now working in high-tech companies, including Intel, Hisense, etc.

Research Interests

Electronic Materials for energy-related applications, including energy harvesting, conversion and storage in Si-based electronics and flexible electronics: design, fabrication, characterization and integration of perovskite thin film materials & devices (high performance dielectric capacitors, ferroelectric/piezoelectric thin film devices including sensors and actuators integratable into piezo-MEMS, multiferroic thin film devices, etc.); applied continuum mechanics and nano-mechanics; environment friendly and bio-compatible energy harvesting materials for wearable electronics & self-powered biomedical devices etc.
